Vladaya – a village 13 km southwest of the center of Sofia, was then considered a summer vacation spot.

Lesja Ukrainka lived here from about July 15 to August 25, 1894.

For the second time, Lesja Ukrainka was vacationing in Vladaya together with M. P. Dragomanov’s family from 8 to 31 (approximately) July 1895.
